Everything Begins With The Water
The overwhelming majority of major and minor nutrients necessary for plant growth are delivered via water. Whether plants acquire nutrients and minerals from the soil solution in the rhizosphere through root hairs, or by foliar spray/fertigation application, the quality of the available water controls their ability to do so efficiently and produce vigorous, healthy growth.
In addition, irrigation water with the correct chemical balance, pH, and biotic nature can have profound beneficial effects on soil characteristics like total porosity, capillary/non-capillary porosity ratios, CEC, and aerobic conditions. Properly managed water can also reduce or eliminate problems with the levels of soil sodium, sulfates, and carbonates.
Managing water quality can help turf mangers reduce requirements for nitrogen, and irrigation inputs, while producing stands of high-value turf that are more stress and disease resistant. These benefits all add up to lower costs and significant budget savings, while also reducing the risk of poor turf performance or major failure. Reducing water demand is the number one challenge today. Healthy turf grass can sequester up to 800 pounds of Carbon per acre, and high carbon soils will reduce wind and water erosion, thus preventing groundwater contamination.
Unfortunately, for several years turf professionals have faced increasing problems in acquiring an adequate supply of irrigation water as a result of widespread drought and growing pressure on potable water resources. Compounding this challenge, vast regions have seen the quality of that supply change, as the use of reclaimed Class II water becomes mandated by public authorities.
All the factors above led to the development of the Rain PlusTM family of products for water and turf solutions. As result of years of research and real-world performance testing, Rain PlusTM has evolved into a group of water management tools centered around two innovative and economical application systems, supported by a comprehensive assortment of natural and organic products. Both systems are flexible and inexpensive, requiring little or no capital costs for installation.
The Rain PlusTM Phase III Treatment System enables turf mangers to improve, restructure, and balance the water quality characteristics of irrigation lakes and ponds that contain Class II water, before application. The Rain PlusTM POD portable leaching system provides a targeted, highly effective way to dramatically improve rhizosphere characteristics in problem areas such as greens, tees, compacted high traffic areas, or any area suffering stress due to poor rootzone performance.
By using the Rain PlusTM technology along with our natural and organic treatment products, turf professionals can reduce maintenance costs, and energy and water inputs; grow healthier, more stress resistant turf, and ease the growing problems they face with water supply and quality.
